Stevenage beat Harrogate Town 1-0 victors in an entertaining clash at the Lamex on Saturday.

An Elliot List goal was the difference in an enthralling encounter that extends Boro's unbeaten run to five.

Alex Revell stuck with his trusted backline and only made one change with Luke Prosser coming into the side for Joe Martin, who didn't make the matchday squad.

Harrogate also made one change with Josh March replaced by top scorer Jack Muldoon, who scored the winner after coming off the bench on Tuesday night against Barrow.

From kick-off both sides showed their intent to create openings.

In the seventh minute Jamie Cumming made a smart stop, down low to his right, after Dan Jones had ventured forward from left back.

Eight minutes later Cumming kept out George Thompson's free-kick.

The shot was destined for the bottom left corner before the on-loan Chelsea man tipped the ball wide and the ball was cleared.

In the 25th minute, the energetic Elliot List picked up the ball in midfield and ran past three defenders before failing to find the onrushing Danny Newton.

List had another chance five minutes later. Harrogate keeper James Belshaw flapped at a cross, before the ball was delivered to the in-form striker - who headed agonisingly wide with the goal gaping.

Three minutes after the restart Harrogate should have gone ahead when top scorer Jack Muldoon raced through on goal, before poking the ball the wrong side of the post.

Straight from the resulting goal kick, Boro went up the other end. List was once again involved, via a delicately weighted ball to the back post to Newton, who could only head at the keeper.

In the 52nd minute the deadlock was broken. Cumming's long ball was brought down by List before he raced past his man, rounded the keeper and slotted into the empty net - prompting wild celebrations from the home side.

After the goal Boro invited pressure, with a number of Harrogate chances to equalise ultimately wasted.

A loose ball in the box should have been converted by Muldoon, before a free header from a set piece was blasted over by Warren Burrell.

Boro saw out the rest of the game to cap a good week with back-to-back wins in north Herts, and will be looking to make it six games unbeaten away at Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening.
