Stevenage return to league action this Saturday against Keith Hill's team after a battling performance against Championship side Swansea saw them bow out of the FA Cup.

Alex Revell's side will be looking to bounce back after a bright performance to continue their rich vain of form against the visitors from Prenton Park.

Form

Boro come into the game with only one loss in seven games in the league. This form has led to the team climbing out the relegation places and they currently hold the 22nd position.

Tranmere have had a inconsistent start to the season with eight wins, four draws and eight losses that sees them occupy 15th place.

However, they come into the game on a high after reaching the fourth round of the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday night after beating Leicester City U21's 2-1.

Head to head

The teams have met 10 times in the league before with Boro winning two of the games and Tranmere winning three matches with five draws from previous clashes.

Early team news

Stevenage will be looking to start Chris Lines from the off after his impressive debut last week. Luke Norris will no doubt be in contention after his eye catching cameo. Matty Stevens will be hoping for his Boro debut after he was cup tied in the FA cup.

Danger men

Boro will be looking to nullify the threat of striker James Vaughan. The former Premier League forward has already netted 11 goals this season and clearly knows where the back of the net is.

Alex Revell previews the game

'The team has been full of confidence this week, after the wins and leading into the FA Cup you've seen a difference in how we're working, a lot more intense and a lot more focus.

"The message is clear, continue what we're doing, setting standards that are higher than what we've seen from them for a long time.

"We were disappointed against Swansea to not score, we created some fantastic opportunities, that was the only negative from that game"

Tranmere boss Keith Hill

"We'll go there to try and win the game, but we have to fundamentally do the basics to give us an opportunity."
