July has been far wetter than we in Hitchin would have liked but the month is set to end with a scorching high of 31C expected later in the week.

After a wet and grey Monday - Tuesday's high will be around 18C - the sun will eventually come out as the week progresses as temperatures gradually rise, climaxing on the final day of July, this Friday, with a mini-heatwave.

Phase's committed service powered by a raft of dedicated volunteers is proving to be vital for the young people of Hitchin

A Hitchin organisation aimed at supporting young people has been busy providing 'virtual spaces' for those whose anxiety levels have risen during lockdown.

Phase, a youth based support trust, has been working with schools and within the wider Hitchin community, operates in partnership with churches in the town to make a positive impact on the lives of children and teenagers in the area.

With the new North Herts Museum and revamped Hitchin Town Hall now thankfully open again following lockdown we take a trip down memory lane to look at the day the great Bob Marley and The Wailers played at the site.
