Read Stevenage FC writer on all things Boro, Owen Rodbard, in Nub News throughout the forthcoming season.

Read on for his expert take on Alex Revell's side as they gear up to embark on pre-season soon.

Stevenage will be going into pre season of the 2021-22 campaign full of hope, and will be seeking to test the fitness of current players, and welcoming new additions, alongside finally welcoming fans back into the stadiums.

Here is the round up of Alex Revell's pre season fixtures.

Boro start the season with the annual trip to neighbouring town Hitchin to face the 'Canaries' in a highly anticipated fixture for both sets of fans on the 10th July at Top Field.

Four days later Revell's men take the short trip down the A1 to St Albans as the fans get another chance to see the team on the road.

Following this, two behind closed door games away at newly relegated Wycombe Wanderers on the 17th July, then a home fixture against promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town on the 20th.

The hectic schedule continues with Boro facing two Premier League teams within four days of each other.

Manager-less Crystal Palace visit the Lamex on Friday, July 23, prior to newly promoted Watford taking the short trip to North Herts on Tuesday, July 27.

Boro's pre season is wrapped up with a trip to the coast to face National League Dover Athletic on Saturday, July 31.

A crammed pre season will only show the squad's true capabilities, and will give some youth players a chance to make break into the first team picture.

If Revell's ethos is anything to go by, then those youth players will have plenty of opportunities to impress in the coming season.

With the season starting on Saturday, August 7, the club clearly has a lot of transfer activity to complete, and will be looking to assemble a squad that can really challenge in League Two next season.
