The Period Acupuncturist

I'm Andrea Dewhurst, a Hitchin-based acupuncturist specialising in fertility and menstrual health. I work primarily with individuals and couples who are trying to conceive, supporting both female and male fertility through a calm, evidence-informed and whole-system approach.

My work focuses on understanding why conception may not be happening, rather than offering generic treatment. I look closely at menstrual cycle patterns, ovulation, blood markers, sperm parameters, lifestyle factors, and stress physiology, helping clients identify the missing pieces that may be affecting their fertility. I regularly support people alongside medical investigations and assisted fertility treatment, including IVF and IUI.

I offer mobile acupuncture across Hitchin, North Hertfordshire, East Hertfordshire, and Welwyn & Hatfield, bringing treatments directly to clients in their own homes. This approach reduces stress, saves time, and allows the nervous system to settle more deeply — an often overlooked but important part of reproductive health.

My style of practice is thoughtful, supportive, and personalised. I work collaboratively with clients, offering clarity, structure, and reassurance during what can be an emotionally demanding journey. Alongside acupuncture, I provide guidance around sleep, stress, and lifestyle factors that influence hormonal balance and fertility.
