Paraplanner - Route to Manager or IFA

Are you an experienced Paraplanner looking for a long-term opportunity with an established and successful Independent Financial Advisory firm.

We are working with a well-established IFA firm in the Hitchin / Stevenage area that is looking to appoint an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background within the IFA environment who enjoys the technical and analytical side of financial planning and is looking to build a long-term career within a supportive team.

The Role

You will work closely with Financial Advisers and the wider support team, providing high-quality technical and administrative support across a broad range of financial planning cases.

The role will include:

• Preparing high-quality suitability reports and financial planning recommendations
• Conducting research and analysing financial products and investments
• Preparing cash-flow and financial planning analysis
• Completing product and investment research
• Preparing illustrations and supporting documentation
• Working closely with Advisers from initial client meeting through to implementation
• Liaising with providers, platforms and other third parties
• Ensuring client files and documentation meet regulatory requirements
• Supporting the delivery of excellent client outcomes
• Using technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and enhance the paraplanning process

About You

We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner who has ideally spent 5+ years working within an IFA environment and has a strong understanding of the financial planning process.

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' IFA / financial services experience
• Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, or be close to achieving it
• Strong technical paraplanning experience
• Excellent knowledge of pensions, investments and financial planning
• Strong attention to detail and excellent report-writing skills
• Confidence communicating with Advisers, providers and colleagues
• A confident, personable and professional approach
• Good understanding of FCA requirements and compliant financial planning
• A genuine interest in technology and the ability to confidently use AI and modern financial planning tools
• A desire to develop within a long-term paraplanning/support role

This would suit someone who enjoys being a highly valued technical member of an IFA team and who is looking to establish themselves in a stable, long-term position rather than necessarily progressing into an Adviser role.
