Herts at Home: Deputy Care Team Manager - Community Service
Purpose of the Job

We are seeking an individual that presents as proactive, innovative and dynamic to drive our care compliance to ensure safe care delivery. You will support and manage a team of Care Quality Supervisors who manage Care Workers that deliver frontline care to vulnerable people who use our services. Plus supporting the operations and business functions and be able to log, present data and provide analysis feedback to your supportive team members.
The role will provide you with an opportunity to showcase and develop your skills with managing staff, support areas of performance to ensure the Company maintains good quality service delivery.
The successful candidate will be able to work with a team and at times autonomously and make sound decisions to support service compliance. Report on care compliance activity and identify opportunities for the Company's improvements and provide constructive feedback on key findings to the wider staff team to continue to support performance and quality. You will be required to contribute and champion change initiatives. Herts at Home has been set up by Hertfordshire County Council to help support Care Providers who are failing to deliver quality care or unable to continue to fulfil Care Contracts. Role and responsibilities:
- Support the operational management of the care team alongside the Care Team Manager to ensure the performance targets for care quality, service delivery and capacity maximisation are achieved.
- Direct line management of Care Quality Supervisor and Carers.
- Ensuring new staff are supported and inducted in line with the Herts at Home onboarding processes.
- Supporting the continuous development of employees through the probation period to supervision and appraisals.
- Support the Care Team Managers at monthly team meetings to update on team performance, policy changes, company news and developments.
- Producing care plans, risk assessments and other supporting documentation within agreed timeframes, quality and implementation of Audits.
- Ensuring safe care delivery to all our service users.
- Carry out assessment visits to new Service Users following referral and the creation of their care plans when the Care Team Manager needs support.
- Assessing and signing off carer medication competency.
- Carry out spot checks for Service Users and Care Workers.
- Support the delivery of care shifts when required in times of Care Worker absence (this can include weekdays and weekends).
- Attending team meetings and head office meetings to address carer issues and support achievement of the companies targets through continuous improvement.
- Provide cover for the management team in times of leave/absence.
- Work within the set targets needed for company growth, deadlines using a set budget and making best use of value for money. Able to produce detailed excel reports.
- Able to communicate with Service Users and their families, staff and professionals timely using technology and verbal communication. Escalation of concerns making use of company processes and utilisation of relevant departments for support. Adhering to policies of Safeguarding, Complaints, Ill Health, Disciplinary, Probation etc.
- Overall knowledge of Company policies and procedures to ensure timely interventions and management of staff take place. Attend Training regularly to ensure competency.
- Manage company improvements, monitor the needs for growth by analysing, developing and strengthening activities across services. Presentation to senior management, keeping to deadlines. Lead on innovative ideas.
- Manage staff to support working with key performance indicators set for the job role.

You must also demonstrate a commitment to re-enablement principles and be expected to support staff with promoting dignity and independence for service users.
- People management skills and experience
- A solid understanding of CQC and Care Act Legislation
- Experience of person-centred care planning
- NVQ Level 3 or above
- Experience of managing and reporting on budgets
- Excellent understanding of English language both written and spoken.
- Access to a car with a clean driving licence.
- A solid understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
