Hitchin World Book Day Celebrations

We are so excited to be hosting a wonderful day of bookish fun on Saturday (March 5) in Hitchin market square from 11-3pm with Hitchin BID.

You know how passionately we feel about books, and this year's World Book Day focus on reaching ALL readers clearly has a special place in our inclusive hearts.

We will have a number of tents in the market square hosting a range of fabulous authors who will be reading their books, signing copies, answering questions and even singing!

We are so pleased to welcome @Gemma Keir @abilitiesinme @jonesgarethp @Danny_D_Pearson @IsadoraMoon @HitchinLibrary @signinghitchinletchworth @alicehemmingauthor and @RoseRobbinsillustration.

There will be a pop-up bookshop in the square too so you can purchase books by these authors to be signed on the day.

We will also be kicking off our Hitchin Book Trail in conjunction with the wonderful @danthescribbler who has designed us a stunning book map, starting at the library and ending up at Next Page Books.

Families can look for clues to well known children's books in the windows of local Hitchin businesses (Hitchin Library, Our Favourite Shop, Fabio's, Fizz, Wild Ivy, Maison Blanc Farley's, Beat School Uniform, Gifted 4 Gifts and Pear Tree Café) who have also donated wonderful prizes.

The trail will be open until the end of the school Easter holidays so you've plenty of time to get your book brains in gear!

Finally, there will be a surprise visit from a very special book character who will be roaming the town, searching again for that little brown mouse…

We hope you can join us on Saturday. The event is specifically aimed at pre-school and primary aged children but anyone who enjoys books will find something to enjoy.

Don't forget to bring your World Book Day vouchers to exchange for one of the specially written selection of books, or to get £1 discount off any of our books.

Follow us on social media @NextPageBooksUK for all the latest details and updates.
