Hitchin: How many people have been vaccinated against Covid in our town and surrounding areas

An interactive map has shown the exact percentage of people that have had their first and second Covid jabs in Hitchin.

A map on the government website allows users to view up to date percentages of everyone aged 12 and above who has received each vaccine.

The data is broken down allowing us to see which areas are most vaccinated. Zoom in on the map to see road names here

The percentage of people aged 12+ vaccinated up to and including December 19 in our town can be found in full below:

Hitchin

1st dose 87.7%

2nd dose 81.%

  1. 3 % of people have received their booster dose.
On Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the situation is 'extremely difficult' but no new measures are being imposed at this time in England. Johnson says the data on Omicron is being reviewed hour by hour' and the government is considering 'all kinds of things'. Arguments for and against tighter restrictions are 'finely balanced, he adds, with hospital admissions rising fast across the country. The PM was speaking after Monday's cabinet meeting when scientists briefed ministers and offered options for new restrictions were debated.[.I]
