More than 750 pupils and staff from a Hitchin school will be travelling to the home of rugby this week.

Twickenham will play host to Hitchin Boys' School, who won through to the RFU Schools Cup Final to be played at rugby HQ on Wednesday.

In order not to clog up Hitchin during the morning rush, 14 coaches will leave from St Mary's car park to transport excited supporters to the match.

HBS head Fergal Moane praised parents: "Many thanks for your support for our efforts to bring a large number of students to Twickenham stadium on Wednesday."

In a letter to parents seen by Hitchin Nub News, he added: "We will be transporting over 700 students and 50 staff thanks to your financial support and that of the wider Hitchin community, who have been incredibly generous in helping to cover the approximately £12,000 costs.

"A number of sixth form students will be making their own way to the stadium, meaning that around 300 students will remain in school."

Their 26-17 success over Sandbach of Cheshire at Sixways, the home of Worcester Warriors, saw the schools U15s qualify for the prestigious final at rugby HQ.

Hitchin Nub News is hoping to cover the game from Twickenham, time permitting.

In the meantime if you are travelling to the match, we'd love to hear your report on the whole experience.
