Hitchin is a town renowned the its community-based events.

So why not take a look at what's going on in the town in our recently revamped What's On section.

To keep you up to date with everything that is going on, we've decided to post a regular 'Event of the Week' article with details of an activity occurring in the local area.

You can list your local events, whether they be shows, films, sports fixtures, quiz nights, virtual markets, pub offers, choir rehearsals, or anything else, on our What's On page free of charge.

For our latest Nub News What's On event of the week we have chosen Hitchin youth charity director Kieran Murphy in Conversation with The High Sheriff

Join Kieran and the team at St Albans Cathedral on Thursday (June 24) for a live-streamed conversation between High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Lionel Wallace, and Kieran, renowned director of the youth-focussed charity Phase.

This free online event is the second in their Abbey After Hours series, which seek to promote open, honest and hopeful conversations about 21st century issues.

In what promises to be a dynamic discussion, Lionel and Kieran will talk about the opportunities available to young people in Hertfordshire, Lionel's experiences as Hertfordshire's first black High Sheriff, and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Book your tickets via our website and submit a question to our speakers by pressing the red button at the bottom of the events page.

Date and Time: Thursday, June 24, 8pm – 930pm

Cost: This event is FREE

Venue: Online via Zoom, link here
