Hitchin's modest master butcher Keith has been delighted with the reaction from punters backing him to win a prestigious award this month.

Keith Jones Butchers on Redhill Road have been shortlisted for The Family Business of The Year Awards 2021.

There is still time to vote for hard-working Keith and his team - who have already seen a flood of loyal customers vote for the popular Hitchin business this month.

Master butcher Keith and his team are well-known in our community for gong the extra mile to provide top quality food for punters - and wants to thank them for their support in the public vote so far.

Speaking to Nub News Keith said: "We're really humbled to have been nominated and would like to thank each and every single person who has voted for us so far.

"We've got a loyal customer base who like what we do and would love everyone to vote for us if they could.

"It's been a busy time over Christmas and we'd just like to thank all our customers for their continued support.

"Fingers crossed with the backing of all our customers we might have a chance to bring back the trophy to Hitchin."

Here's how YOU can help Keith win!

Each year amazing family businesses across the UK are crowned as part of the Family Business of the Year Awards.

Titles are awarded regionally, by sector and for a number of national awards.

These are all determined by a panel of judges that comprise family business leaders, professional advisers with a family business specialism and previous winners.

In addition to the titles awarded by the judges, there is a 'People's Choice' category, determined by the public.

These regional titles, and an overall national winner, are eagerly contested and each year we crown some great family firms as the winners of the public vote.

The shortlist is out and the family firms in the running for the London & South East Family Business of the Year 2021 are listed below - including Keith!

So, we are calling on as many people as possible in Hitchin and our surrounding areas to vote for Keith to see him crowned the 2021 People's Choice Award

Please note you can vote for more than one of the shortlisted firms but only one form is accepted per email address.

The winners of the regional and national title will be announced during the gala awards ceremony in June.
