Hitchin's Molly-Mae Hague has admitted she knew she would appear on ITV's hit show Love Island 'years before' she shot to stardom.

The former Priory School pupil appeared on series five of Love Island, and went on to finish second with boyfriend, Tommy Fury, who is the half-brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury.

The 21-year-old social media influencer from Hitchin, who now lives in Manchester with Tommy, revealed in a Q&A this week she knew she would star in the top-rated show one day.

Sharing the news on her Instagram story in a Q&A to her 5.2 million followers, she was asked: "Do you believe in manifesting/spiritually, if you do I would love to see content about it!"

She then revealed her beliefs in a "mini story time", by explaining, "This is the one time that I do believe manifesting really truly did work in my life...

"Basically ever since I was about 15 or 16 - whenever the first series of Love Island came out - I watched the show.

"And it wasn't like an aspiration of mine to go on Love Island, but I used to say to my mum and my dad, my family and my friends 'I'm going to go on Love Island one day, like I just know it's going to happen for me. I'm going to be on that show'."

Before she hit the nation's consciousness Molly-Mae appeared in beauty pageants across Hitchin and the county, becoming Miss Teen Hertfordshire in 2015, while fundraising for charity.

Hard-working Molly-Mae also worked part-time as a lifeguard at Hitchin Swimming Centre in Fishponds Road five years ago when she was 16.

Speaking exclusively to this correspondent at the Comet back in 2016, good-natured Molly-Mae said: "I've lived in Hitchin all my life and I love the town.

"I've been an active member of many clubs and groups to do with Hitchin life."
