Milford Lodge Care Home in Hitchin was alive with melody and smiles this week as talented musicians from Benslow Music School visited to perform for residents. The afternoon concert created a beautiful atmosphere throughout the home, blending live music, reminiscence, and community connection in a way that truly lifted spirits.

Residents gathered in the lounge as the musicians introduced a varied programme, from gentle classical pieces to familiar favourites that encouraged humming, tapping, and soft singalongs. The performance was especially meaningful for residents living in Sycamore, the home's 18‑bed specialist dementia environment, where music often sparks comfort, recognition, and emotional wellbeing.

The visit formed part of Milford Lodge's ongoing commitment to providing purposeful, person‑centred experiences, both inside and outside the home.
