Christmas Market open for local independents in Hitchin this weekend

A one-off Christmas Market for independent businesses is being held this weekend as now, more than ever, we are being encouraged to shop local.
Hitchin Shared Space, off Market Place, is hosting a socially distanced Christmas Market this weekend.
The event will feature local designers and producers on Saturday, December 12 (10am to 5pm) and Sunday, December 13 (11am to 4pm).
Speaking to Nub News, organiser Dan Bramall said: "We're all really looking forward to it.
"It's a great way to showcase creative work from Hitchin creatives in a safe, socially-distanced town centre location.
"So, why not come along and grab yourself a Christmas present or two!"
Hitchin Shared Space is just off Hitchin market place at the back of the Carling Building next to the H Town clothes shop.
Included in the wares will be Hitchin's must-have Christmas present, Dan the Scribbler's tea towel.
