54 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 31 January 2021 - with a confirmed case being someone who has tested positive for coronavirus.

Between 25 January 2021 and 31 January 2021, 349 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows a decrease of 41.5 per cent compared to the previous 7 days.

Healthcare in East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

28 people with coronavirus went into hospital on 24 January 2021.

Between 18 January 2021 and 24 January 2021, 178 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of 5.3 per cent compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 204 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 26 January 2021.

Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe.

There were 26 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 26 January 2021.

Deaths in North Hertfordshire

There were 0 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 31 January 2021.

Between 25 January 2021 and 31 January 2021, there have been 21 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of 41.7 per cent compared to the previous seven days.

Vaccinations in England

Vaccines are currently given in two doses, at least 21 days apart.

7,792,996 people had been given a first dose by the end of 30 January 2021.

458,150 people had been given a second dose by the end of 30 January 2021.
