A renowned carer's company in our area is aiming to make a prestigious employers shortlist for the fourth time in succession.

Crossroads Care are gunning to be including in the 100 Best Companies to Work list for fourth year in a row.

Providing support for unpaid family carers and the people they look after in Hertfordshire, it's no surprise that passion and commitment are part of Crossroads Care's way of life.

Crossroads HR and Recruitment Manager Aimee Martindale, told Nub News: "Here at Crossroads, we believe in empowering our team.

"Our commitment to employee engagement is at the core of our success, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and well-being.

"When our team is engaged, our organisation thrives, and we can better serve and uplift our community."

Crossroads Care

Starting out as a respite provider to support unpaid family carers, the team at Crossroads now delivers homecare services to anyone needing support with their daily living needs.

It's an organisation that cares for people, not profit, and it believes that the best way to care for its clients is to offer the best possible work environment for its staff.

Priding itself on a warm and nurturing culture, wellbeing support features high on the agenda at Crossroads Care. Staff are encouraged to speak openly about how they are feeling and there's opportunity to discuss any concerns.

The organisation offers flexibility when it comes to working hours to ensure all employees can achieve an optimal balance, and there's information, tips, and advice on offer through a monthly wellness update.

Crossroads Care knows that the best advocates for its employer brand are its employees, and it has shared videos and written stories from existing staff on social media explaining why they like working for the organisation.

It has a strong focus on human contact ahead of interviewing new candidates for roles, ensuring that everyone receives a phone call to help build relationships and ask any questions before they even get to the formal recruitment stages.

 What is Best Companies

Best Companies empowers organisations to enhance employee engagement through the b-Heard Employee Engagement Survey.

If you're aiming to boost engagement levels, foster stronger teams, nurture effective managers, and create a happier working environment, the first step is conducting a comprehensive survey.

At the core of an engagement journey is understanding your employees' thoughts and feelings. Their feedback becomes the driving force behind your decisions, pinpointing areas for focus and assisting in the implementation of improvement plans. The art lies not just in knowing what questions to ask but in understanding how to ask them.

The b-Heard survey features 24 core statements and an 8-factor model, enabling you to ask the right questions about employee well-being, pay and benefits, personal growth, team dynamics, leadership, and more. The survey ensures confidentiality and security, crucial for achieving maximum response rates.

Employee engagement is more than just a survey. A survey is the entry point to engagement, involving being part of something – committing to a journey of discovery, insight, and action that will help you acknowledge where you, your team, and your organization excel and where meaningful change can be made.

An engaged workforce is something to be celebrated – and Best Companies help businesses acknowledge that with official Best Companies accreditation.
