Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit (RPU) are appealing for witnesses and information following a collision in Ware.

The incident occurred in Star Street, at around 1220pm on Thursday 20 April and involved a blue Volkswagen Polo and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital where she remains in a stable condition at this time.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.

Detective Constable Felicity Moody, from the RPU, said: "Our enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around the collision. As part of this, we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward. Did you see the collision or the events prior to it?

"If you were driving in the area and have a dash cam fitted, please review it in case you have captured any footage which may assist the investigation. Thank you."
