Lines set to close for engineering works this weekend: Cancellation of train services between Hitchin and Kings Cross

Update: Services to and from London Kings Cross running through Hitchin and North Herts will not run this weekend due to engineering works

All lines will be closed today, Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25, as work begins to install digital signalling between Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City.

As a result, no Great Northern or Thameslink trains will run between Potters Bar/Hertford North and St Neots/Royston on both days, with replacement buses provided between the following locations:

Hitchin and St Neots

Hitchin and St Albans

Hitchin and Royston

Stevenage and Luton Airport Parkway

Potters Bar and Stevenage

Hertford North and Stevenage

St Neots and Bedford

On Sunday, before 1045am and after 11pm, no trains will run between London Kings Cross/Moorgate and Potters Bar/Hertford North. 

Replacement buses will run between Finsbury Park and Potters Bar/Hertford North.
