Firearms officers respond to "altercation" on Walsworth Road over the weekend

Police were called at 12.40pm Sunday 2 February to report an altercation outside of a block of flats in Walsworth Road, Hitchin.

It is reported that approximately eight to 10 people were involved. 

A number of resources were deployed, including firearms officers.

Two people were injured. One man, aged in his 30s, suffered suspected stab wounds and was taken to hospital by air ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. 

Paramedics took a second man aged in his 40s to hospital by road. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing. 

Two men, aged 20 and 23, have been arrested on suspicion of affray. They are currently in police custody.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information is asked to please contact police on 101 quoting ISR 320 of 2 February.
