Former Priory School Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere responds to Hitchin Town's cheeky tweet on transfer deadline day

By Layth Yousif 5th Oct 2020

Former Priory School pupil, Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere has responded to a cheeky tweet from Hitchin Town on transfer deadline day.

The 28-year-old had just announced that he had agreed to terminate his contract with West Ham as he wasn't getting regular football.

The decision meant that Hitchin lad Wilshere is currently without a club after leaving the east Londoners.

The Canaries wasted no time in trying to get the creative midfielder to appear at Top Field by tweeting: "@JackWilshere - if you need somewhere to keep fit while you find a new club, we're in the market for a 28-year-old creative midfielder from Hitchin. You know where we are."

Wilshere, who donated a signed Arsenal shirt to the Priory School in recognition of their support while he was training with the Gunners academy as a teenager before his GCSE's, shared his reply via his personal Twitter account to his 3.7million followers.

Quick as a flash, good sport Wilshere replied to his hometown club: "See you tomorrow. What time? Don't need to be getting fined day one."
