Freezing fog is set for Hitchin and surrounding areas later.

Despite Thursday being dry and largely sunny, freezing fog patches will develop this evening.

A weak band of rain, sleet and snow will slowly edge across our region with the ground turning icy in places.

A minimum temperature of -4 °C is expected.

Friday will see cloud, possibly with a few wintry showers during the afternoon and evening. again the weather will turn icy in places.

The outlook for Saturday to Monday from the Met Office is as follows:

Widespread frost and freezing fog patches on Saturday and Sunday, slow to clear in places.

Dry and sunny otherwise. Breezy, mostly cloudy on Monday, but less cold.
