Our town's brilliant Hitchin Library is preparing for Halloween next week through the medium of spooky literary themes.

Staff at the much-loved library on Paynes Park, which re-opened in August after lockdown, are set to bring you some of their favourite, and most renowned, literary works of horror for Halloween night.

Eager readers will be in for a spooky treat by tuning into the library's Facebook page next week.

Library boss Rebekah Nicolas told Hitchin Nub News: "After the lovely response to our Midsummer Readings, we wanted to get in the Halloween spirit and share some chilling tales.

"Please do join us for the stories, it promises to be Spooktacular!"

Rebekah and her hard-working team would also love to hear from the Hitchin community about their go to Gothic reads ahead of the event.

To join in the event visit their Facebook for the video on Saturday, October 31 at 8pm.

Stay tuned for future Hitchin Nub News Facebook live videos from Hitchin Library.
