It started with a small picture - but the response from people in Hitchin was large!

When Nub News posted a photograph of the site of the former Hawkins of Hitchin on our Facebook page last week, it prompted a large number of happy memories from readers.

We asked you 'who remembered shopping in Hawkins'? - and it sparked a raft of memories of shopping and working at the former store on Bucklersbury.

So, for a future Nub News rewind feature article on the renowned Hitchin store that first opened in 1863, and served generations upon generations of Hitchin families - including providing school uniforms - we'd love you to tell us more!

If you worked there, please get in touch and let us know when you worked there and who you worked with as we'd love to talk to you.

Or if you were a regular shopper, we'd love to hear more from you about what made it such a popular Hitchin institution.

Email [email protected] and we'll get back to you as part of our next Rewind feature.

Thanks for joining in!
