Highover Farm Public Event - 4.30-7.30pm, Thursday 5th June, Hitchin Town Hall

In April Developers promised "to explain programme and process" over the scheme to build up to 700 houses, a new 2 form entry primary school, open space, play space and green infrastructure at the former farm on the edge of Hitchin.
Next week (5th June) will see a public exhibition to discuss the details of new amendments to existing planning documents as well as a Reserved Matters Application for the first phase of the residential development and associated open space.
Back in October 2023 when the original planning permission was granted more than 1,850 people signed a Change.org petition which labelled the development "irresponsible".
The petition read: "If it goes ahead, this will be Hitchin's biggest new housing development in decades and will bring Hitchin's already congested roads to gridlock."
