Hitchin: 'We will not tolerate drug dealing in our town' say Herts police after Westmill raid

'We will not tolerate drug dealing in Hitchin' is the message from Herts police.

The directive comes after a drugs warrant was carried out in the town earlier this month.

Officers from Hitchin's Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a drugs warrant in the town on Thursday (August 5) as they work hard to tackle local drug dealing.

The property, which is in Mattocke Road, was raided following vital intelligence about the dealing of class A drugs.

A search of the address identified clear drug misuse within the property and the investigation remains ongoing.

PC Justin Barnes, from the Hitchin Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Communication with the general public is key as the information you provide us with is so important.

"The information you give allows us to complete these warrants so please don't hesitate to report any suspicions.

"We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour or drug dealing and we remain committed to making Hitchin a hostile place for drug dealers to operate in."

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, or call the non-emergency number 101. In an emergency, always call 999.
