Two of North Hertfordshire's most popular outdoor swimming spots will reopen next month, marking the start of the summer season.

The lido at Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre and Letchworth Lido will both welcome visitors back from Saturday 23 May, following their annual winter closure.

The much-loved facilities, operated by Everyone Active on behalf of North Herts Council, are expected to attract large crowds once again.

Last summer proved particularly popular, with Hitchin Lido recording 27,901 visits, while Letchworth Lido welcomed 46,678 visitors during its milestone 90th anniversary year.

Letchworth Lido, which first opened in 1935, remains a historic attraction for the town, while Hitchin Lido continues to be a firm favourite for those looking to swim outdoors or relax in the sun.

Both sites are currently undergoing routine maintenance and preparation work ahead of reopening, as teams gear up for the busy summer period.

Visitors can expect a full programme of activities to return, including lane swimming, family sessions and special events. Popular experiences such as floating sound baths will be back at both locations, alongside solstice swims to mark the longest day of the year.
