HITCHIN: Armed police were called to an incident in the centre of our town on Tuesday afternoon.

An armed response unit arrived at Queen Street in Hitchin after reports two males had been involved in an altercation and that weapons had been seen.

Officers were called at around 2pm on Tuesday (April 12) following an incident near to the Asda supermarket.

Herts Police told Nub News: "Officers also attended and located the males, who were both found to be uninjured and no weapons were located."

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to please contact DC Sarah Meacock via email at [email protected]
