Witnesses sought following assault in Hitchin

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Hitchin. 

The incident occurred on Friday, August 5 between 345pm and 430pm, in an alley way in the Keats Way/Chaucer Way area.

The victim became involved in an altercation with two men, leading to a scuffle in which the victim received broken ribs and a punctured lung.   

Detective Constable Rebecca Robinson, who is investigating, said: "The incident occurred following a verbal altercation between the victim and two unidentified men.

"Our enquiries are continuing at this time to identify the suspect and, as part of the investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident."
