A Hitchin-based charity that aims to help adults who have suffered brain injuries has issued a rallying cry for cyclists to take part in their latest fundraiser.

Headway Hertfordshire work tirelessly to improve life after a brain injury for adults who have been immediately affected and the loved ones who care for them.

The Bancroft-based Herts charity are calling for cyclists to join their Spinathon to be held a week on Saturday (February 25).

Every 90 seconds someone in the UK experiences a brain injury. At Hitchin's Headway Hertfordshire they offer a wide range of services which help people – and those who care for them – adjust to their 'new normal'.

By taking part in their charity Spinathon you will be helping to raise much-needed funds for this worthy charity.

Headway's John Archer told Hitchin Nub News: "We work closely with people who have a brain injury, their carers and families.

"We aim to reduce social isolation, improve health and wellbeing and give carers a break.

"We also work to raise awareness with local groups, professionals, statutory authorities, charities and others through presentations, talks and face to face meetings."

The event is to be held at Westminster Lodge, St. Albans on Saturday, February 25 from 11am to 3pm.

Four one-hour sessions - do one or do them all - If you would like to join in please call 03003301455 or email John at [email protected]

Headway have recently benefited from Co-op's fundraising. See Nub News for more on this next week
