By James Denselow 29th Jun 2026
Residents are invited to enjoy a day of music, shopping and family fun when Bucklersbury is transformed into a vibrant community event next month.
Bucklersbury Day will take place on Saturday 18 July, from 10am to 5pm, with the street closed to traffic to allow visitors to explore everything the area has to offer.
The free event aims to celebrate the independent businesses that line Bucklersbury, with shops and traders bringing their offerings onto the pavement through stalls, demonstrations and special promotions.
Visitors can expect live music, a lively atmosphere, refreshments and activities suitable for all ages, making it an ideal summer day out for families and shoppers alike.
Organisers say the event is designed to showcase the wide variety of businesses based on Bucklersbury while encouraging people to shop locally and discover services they may not have visited before.
With the road temporarily closed to vehicles, people will be able to stroll along the street, browse the stalls, enjoy entertainment and soak up the summer atmosphere in the heart of Hitchin.
