Caring Hitchin Town FC have donated £200 to charity this month.

The community-minded Top Field outfit supported Shelter's No Home Kit Campaign over the Christmas period.

Supporters helped boost this worthwhile cause as a result of the club giving £10 from each away shirt sale this month as well as the Canaries unclaimed 50/50 prize from the Tamworth game.

Secretary and club stalwart Roy Izzard told Nub News: "We were really pleased to help Shelter in their No Home Kit Campaign.

"We are always keen to be seen as a community club and have helped many different charities over the past few seasons.

"I know our supporters have been very generous whenever we have decided to support worthwhile causes and I am proud that we are now seen as a compassionate club.

"We asked all supporters to wear our away shirt at the Royston game over Christmas and many did. We also donated £10 from all away shirt sales we made in December. As the 50/50 prize was not claimed at the Tamworth game we felt it appropriate to add this to our donation to Shelter."
