Hitchin charity shop calls for more donations to support seriously ill young adults

By Emma Taplin 14th Mar 2025

Willow charity shop in Hitchin has seen a drop in donations since opening in November 2024.

The store, which is located at 7 Arcade Walk, has been appealing for donations of quality women's clothing and accessories on social media in a bid to entice customers while the area undergoes maintenance work.

Shop Manager, Asha Higgins said, "We're in urgent need of womenswear to help stock our shop. We always accept good quality donations so if you're having a clear out, please do think of us."

Cheryl Aldridge, Head of Retail at Willow added, "Willow has received such a warm welcome since opening our new shop in Hitchin. It's a shame that the maintenance work has affected footfall as many customers don't realise we're still open and accepting donations."

Hertfordshire based charity, Willow, provides special days, breaks and treats for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds and their loved ones. Their shop in Hitchin is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. All purchases will help those living with a life-threatening illness take time out when they need it most.
