"Growing Resilience in Teens" (GRIT) a Hitchin-based charity supporting young people's mental health, has been recognised nationally by winning the Clinical Improvement in Mental Health award at the General Practice Awards, held in London last month.

Fellow nominees included Hitchin and Whitwell PCN's Carer's Cafe Team, with Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary Club also shortlisted for an award in the General Practice Team of the Year category.

The evening was a real testament to North Herts NHS and the services it offers its residents with so many nominations for the region.

This award acknowledges GRIT's success as an approved NHS charity partner.

Their Four Corners Method combines health and wellbeing coaching techniques, evidence-based research, and the physical and mental benefits of boxing to support young people aged 11–24 in navigating challenges, building resilience, achieving goals, and improving their mental health.

Dr Louise Randall, Founder of GRIT, explained - "This award reflects the unique impact of our embodied coaching approach and Four Corners Method to support young people. We're incredibly proud to work alongside the NHS and all our strategic partners. We rely on the generosity of our supporters including those in our local community to continue bridging the gap in mental health services for young people."

The General Practice Awards are among the most prestigious healthcare awards in the UK, celebrating innovation and excellence.
