There will be a coffee morning for new arrivals from Ukraine later this month.
If you are new to the area, why not pop along to the coffee morning at North Herts Museum in Hitchin on Wednesday, June 22.
Taking place in the cafe at the museum in Brand Street from 10am-11.30am, the event is a great opportunity for Ukrainian families to connect and offer support to each other.
North Herts Council liaises with the Home Office and helps inspect properties for Ukrainian refugees coming to the area.
Councillor Sean Prendergast, Executive Member for Housing and Environmental Health, said: "We know there are Ukrainian refugees in North Herts through the government's Homes for Ukraine scheme, whereby people can volunteer to take in refugees fleeing Ukraine, and we want to help them feel as connected and settled as possible in their new homes."
The council add that although this particular event is aimed at arrivals Ukrainian, everyone is welcome - including people with Afghan or Syrian heritage who NHC has helped rehome in the district.
"There's no need to book, please just turn up to the coffee morning - we hope you enjoy it," NHC adds.
