Witness appeal following assault in Hitchin

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault which occurred in Hitchin. 

The incident took place between 330am and 355am on Sunday (17 September) on Churchyard. 

It is reported that following a commotion, a group of men attacked the victim outside a nightclub.

It is alleged that one of the men punched him in the back of the head causing a suspected broken nose, requiring surgery, which was sustained due to the contact with the floor.

Detective Constable Remi Whates who is investigating said: "We are appealing for information relating to the incident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time or has any footage of the reported incident, please contact police."
