Crowds flocked to the shiny new GAIL's bakery in Hitchin yesterday as the much anticipated shop opened its doors for the first time.

The bakery - who believe in "making good bread" - saw good football as residents of Hitchin and beyond sought out the tasty treats on offer.

As we enter the more intense part of the festive season, shoppers were able to take advantage of the bakery's Christmas Menu, including new product launches, such as three flavours of the new GAIL's Panettone. 

The menu consists of a variety of Christmas treats including the Sticky Brioche Christmas Buns and Raclette Escargots, to festive pantry items, such as the Ginger Loaf and Green Tomato and Apple Chutney. 

GAIL's Panettone features, made using a traditional Italian sourdough starter and topped with an abundance of dried fruits, peels and nuts. With 3 different flavours, including Pistachio and Lemon, White Chocolate and Mandarin and Classic Candied Fruit.
