On a post on "X", Hitchin Girls School revealed that last week they were joined by some ex-colleagues to unveil a memorial for former Site Manager John Oswald.

The post shared the news that John, who sadly passed away in 2016 having worked the school for 13 years, would have a permanent presence on the school walls with a memorial that remembers his name along with the famous phrase "carpe diem" (seize the day)

The school said that "John made a lasting impression on the school and those he worked with".
