Hitchin groups invited to apply for Veolia’s Sustainability Fund

Community groups and local residents in Hitchin are being encouraged to put forward their ideas for projects that could make a real difference to the environment and local community – with the support of Veolia's Sustainability Fund.
The fund offers cash sponsorship, in-kind resources and staff volunteers to help bring not-for-profit projects to life. Applications are welcomed from charities, community groups and individuals who have a great idea to improve Hitchin and the wider North Herts area.
Between £250 and a £1,000 is available per project.
Successful projects should aim to:
- Enhance biodiversity
- Promote sustainable waste behaviours (reduce, reuse and recycle)
- Protect or preserve resources and the environment
- Use recycled, reused or reclaimed materials
- Improve social wellbeing
Veolia says it looks favourably on initiatives with long-term benefits for the community, but all applications will be considered on merit.
Veolia have said they want to support the brilliant ideas and energy that exist within our communities.
If you've got a project that could make Hitchin greener, cleaner, or more connected, they'd love to hear from you.
