Hitchin is set to be hotter than Biarritz today, Tuesday, as the blazing September sunshine continues.

Temperatures are expected to hit 29C degrees in north Herts as the good weather means one last blast of summer.

According to the Met Office, southerly tropical continental air in combination with light winds means another day of the mercury topping nearly 30C - meaning our town will be hotter than sun spots in the south west of France.

The hot weather is expected to remain until later in the week, but thunderstorms could be possible on Thursday.

The hot September comes after the late August heatwave when temperatures were recorded at 34C for six days in a row.
