In a shocking turn of events councillors running North Herts decided on Monday that each house in Hitchin has to have ten bins to handle a "new dynamic waste service".

The service will include a red, yellow, pink and green bin as well as purple and orange and blue ones.

Cllr Nat Real said; "with timed collections available for hourly slots across a 24 hour cycle this new system will ensure that residents of Hitchin can be thinking about which bin to put out every minute of the day".
