Hitchin Library's doors are open for browsing from tomorrow, Thursday!
Hertfordshire Libraries re-open for browsing today, Wednesday, with Hitchin Library due to welcome customers back from tomorrow, Thursday, (December 3.)
While the team have loved preparing 'Ready Reads' packs for you, they are very happy to be welcoming you back to browse and select your own books.
Busy library boss Rebekah Nicolas told Nub News: "We're very excited to open our doors again and can't wait to get started.
"The Hitchin team are very much looking forward to welcoming you back!"
The following services will be available at the Paynes Park site from Thursday:
Visitors can enter the building for a limited period of 15 minutes, return items, select their own books and issue them on the self-service kiosks - just remember to bring your library card.
Eager readers can also borrow themed 'Grab & Go' book bundles, use the photocopier, join the library, make short enquiries - while long and complex enquires can be sent to their enquiry team.
Visitors can also use a pre-booked computer for an hour.
However, at the moment, visitors are not allowed to use seating areas or access study spaces. You are not allowed to access toilet or baby changing facilities or use a computer without booking in advance or access Wi-Fi.
You will also be unable to read newspapers or periodicals or participate in group activities.
As a reminder, Hitchin library's revised opening hours are as follows: Monday: 1-5pm Tuesday: 10am-5pm Wednesday: Closed Thursday: 10am-5pm Friday: 10am-5pm Saturday: 10am-4pm Sunday: Closed ..........................
In a bid to encourage reading, Hitchin Library have teamed up with Nub News for a 'Countdown to Christmas' list with a daily recommendation of a festive book favourite.
