Hitchin's much-loved Market Theatre is set to re-open this weekend - and you're all invited!

Staff and volunteers have working hard to clean and prepare the building on Sun Street this week ready to start welcoming punters back from this Saturday.

Doors will open from 6pm on Saturday for drinks and live music and the theatre hopes as many of you as possible can join them.

The theatre said: "As a way of saying thank you to all our loyal supporters, we are inviting you to join us on Saturday, August 29 from 6pm to 9pm - or stay as late as you wish.

"From 6pm to 730pm it will be buy one get one free on all drinks - before reverting to normal prices after 730pm with live music, most nights between 7pm to 8pm.

"Admission is free. Sitting at tables, we will be using the Cabaret Bar and Theatre with doors wide open and marquees in the courtyard. Everyone will be served from the downstairs bar, by waiter service. It will be an informal evening."

The theatre is still working on and amending their programme and hope to reopen for shows (with social distancing and subject to the Government guidelines) towards the end of September.
