In his weekly newsletter Hitchin MP, Alistair Strathern, provided an update on continued discussions around the potential opening up of Hitchin train station to the other side of town.

Strathern reiterated that he "completely supports the project and campaign to deliver this". 

"I went to Herts County Council's Stevenage offices for a meeting on a really important issue for Hitchin: eastern access to Hitchin's station. We ran through the various options, from smaller to larger scale. As a takeaway from the discussion, I will talk to ministers and Network Rail to push for momentum, approval and plans to be drawn up".
