HITCHIN: Nub News offers unrivalled coverage of schools in our area.

Schools in our town have returned this week as we start the new 2022-23 school year, and term dates have been released.

These also show when state schools in the local area will be off for holidays.

In the Parliamentary seat of Hitchin and Harpenden, the area has 56 schools and colleges listed

You can find a full list of them at here.

Featured in the list are three secondary schools in our town, including Hitchin Boys' School, Hitchin Girls' School and the Priory School.

It is important to remember that academy, voluntary aided and foundation schools may have different school term and holiday dates.

At the same time, schools may have different staff training (INSET) days – so you should check with your school when these days will take place during term time.

Term dates for the new school year 2022-23 across Hitchin

Start of term: September 1, 2022

Half term holiday: October 24 - October 28, 2022

Christmas holiday: December 22, 2022 - January 4, 2023
