HITCHIN: A planning application to build 21 apartments featuring 42 car parking spaces has been refused.

North Herts Council turned down proposals to develop a site at 65 Bury Mead Road in Hitchin.

The planning request lodged with NHC intended to build four, one bedroom apartments, 13 two bed apartments and four three bed apartments has been thrown out, today, Tuesday, [January 18, 2022].

The proposed residential development also wanted to include 42 parking spaces and access.

Concerns had been raised regarding the lack of affordable housing, as well about the lack of proposed insulation and energy saving measures.
