Hitchin pub landlady and generous regulars moved to donate supplies for Ukraine
HITCHIN: Kind-hearted punters have responded to a call from the landlady of a pub in our town to help the people of Ukraine.
Regulars at Molly Malone's on Nightingale Road have stepped up to help the stricken country that has been torn apart by the Russian invasion.
Landlady Clare Waller told Hitchin Nub News that she was so moved by the plight of the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian people she felt she had to do something to help.
She says: "We have all say and watched the suffering of the Ukrainian people and we wanted to do our bit to help.
"We asked people to bring donations to Molly's and we would make sure their kind donations reached the charities who have distribution capabilities."
Pub punters stepped up to donate much-needed items such as foil survival blankets, thermal clothing, sleeping bags, nappies, baby food as well as bandages and painkillers.
Clare added: "It has been so distressing to see what the people of Ukraine are going through and we wanted to do our bit."
If you would like to donate please call in to Molly Malones at 118 Nightingale Road
