HITCHIN: Nub News offers unrivalled coverage of schools in our area.

Schools in our town have returned this week as we enter 2022, and term dates have been released.

These also show when state schools in the local area will be off for holidays.

In the Parliamentary seat of Hitchin and Harpenden, the area has 56 schools and colleges listed

You can find a full list of them at here.

Featured in the list are three secondary schools in our town, including Hitchin Boys' School, Hitchin Girls' School and the Priory School.

Term dates for 2022 in Hitchin

Spring term 2022

Tuesday, January 4 2022 through until Friday, February 11, 2022

Half Term: Monday, February 14 to Friday, February 18

Monday 21 February, 2022 to Friday 1 April, 2022

Summer term 2022

Tuesday, April 19, 2022 to Friday, May 27, 2022 (including the May Day Bank Holiday on May 2)

Monday, June 6, 2022 to Thursday, July 21, 2022

Autumn term 2022

Thursday, September 1, 2022 to Friday, October 21, 2022

Monday, October 31 2022 to Friday, December 16, 2022

Please note that academy, voluntary aided and foundation schools may have slightly different dates, and INSET days vary by school.

Schools have also said dates may vary if coronavirus rates impact attendances or staffing numbers, with the possibility of hybrid or remote learning as we reported exclusively this week at the Priory and HBS.

It is important to remember that academy, voluntary aided and foundation schools may have different school term and holiday dates.

At the same time, schools may have different staff training (INSET) days – so you should check with your school when these days will take place during term time.
