Hitchin families are being encouraged to wrap up warm and head out onto the streets later this month (Sunday 21st December) as the hugely popular Farmers on Christmas Lights Tour returns for its fifth year.
For one night only, more than 100 illuminated tractors and farm vehicles will roll through North Herts, bringing a magical, feel-good spectacle just days before Christmas. The event – the biggest free, family-friendly tractor rally in Hertfordshire – has become a festive favourite for residents across Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin.
Organised by local farmers, the tour raises money for Garden House Hospice Care, with every penny donated going directly to support the charity's vital work.
Route and timings
The convoy will travel through the district on the following approximate timings:
- 6.00pm – Baldock: Starting in Clothall Road and moving along the High Street
- 6.45pm – Letchworth: Arriving via Pixmore Way, then Norton Way South, Gernon Road, Eastcheap, Leys Avenue and Broadway Gardens
- 7.30pm – Hitchin: Entering via Hitchin Road and finishing at Hitchin Priory Hotel
The Hitchin finale will include fairground rides, festive treats and thank-you's, making it the perfect place to round off this year's dazzling tour.
Residents are encouraged to stand safely along the route, enjoy the lights, and support Garden House Hospice Care where they can.
