Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre partners with Garden House Hospice Care for charity fundraiser

Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre is set to host a special charity-focused fitness weekend later this month, raising vital funds for Garden House Hospice Care.
The centre, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with North Herts Council, will run a series of free group exercise classes on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March.
These sessions will showcase the latest routines from the world-renowned Les Mills fitness programme, with participants invited to donate in support of the hospice.
The event will introduce brand-new choreography, music and workout techniques, which will be incorporated into regular classes in the coming months. Everyone Active offers these internationally acclaimed Les Mills programmes across all of its facilities nationwide, catering to a variety of fitness levels, from high-intensity sessions to gentler options.
The fundraiser holds particular significance for the centre's staff, many of whom have personal connections to the care provided by Garden House Hospice Care.
Paul Francis, General Manager at Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, take part in energising fitness classes and support a truly worthy cause.
"Whether you're a Les Mills regular or trying the classes for the first time, you'll be contributing to the incredible work of Garden House Hospice Care while investing in your own health and wellbeing.
"We're hoping for a strong turnout that will not only raise funds for this vital local charity but also encourage more people to experience the benefits of group fitness."
Sarah Kingsley, Service Director - Place, at the Council said: "Garden House Hospice Care has been supporting North Herts residents with life-limiting illnesses and their families for 35 years this year. We're delighted to play just a small part in raising the vital funds that they need to be able to provide their support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and hope to see many residents taking part in the free group classes at Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre whilst raising money for such a worthy cause."
The weekend schedule will feature popular Les Mills classes, including BodyAttack, BodyBalance, and BodyCombat. Volunteers from the hospice will be present throughout the event, providing information and collecting donations.
Attendees can also look forward to a special appearance from the hospice's mascot bear.
In addition to the charity fitness weekend, the centre will host a special Mother's Day event on Sunday 30 March. The newly opened Reformer studio - launched in September last year
- will welcome mothers and daughters for free trial sessions, offering a unique opportunity to experience the benefits of Reformer together.
To book on to a session, contact Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre either in person or by calling 01462 441646.
